Art lessons offer learners the unique opportunity of building self confidence in creative and lateral thinking. It is also beneficial in developing motor skills, hand-eye coordination, complex analytical and problem-solving, risk-taking, and processing and expressing internal dialogue through visual media.
Lessons

Curriculum
Various stylistic, media, and technical skills will be developed through different projects where learners will use knowledge about famous artists as the foundation for their artwork development. Over the course of Term 1, there will be 10 weeks of art lessons from 30 January until 4 April. This will include two 5 week projects. The first of these is inspired by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo after which learners will create a Kahlo inspired mixed media self-portrait. Next we will investigate the mesmerizing pumpkins and spots of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama from which we will interpret different fruits and vegetables in acrylic paint.

With an Honors Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Pretoria and a passion for nurturing creativity in all ages, she is dedicated to crafting a unique artistic journey.
Drawn by the incredible capacity of individuals to create, express, explore, and engage with art, she finds inspiration in the transformative potential of artistic endeavors. Her conviction is rooted in the manifold advantages that art brings, fostering the development of motor skills, hand-eye coordination, lateral thinking, complex analysis, creative problem-solving, risk-taking, and the nuanced ability to process and express internal dialogue through visual media. The lessons she conducts delve into a diverse array of stylistic expressions, media applications, and technical skills. These skills are honed through a series of engaging projects while following a structured curriculum, with insights from inspirational artists serving as the bedrock for the participants' artistic evolution.
