GROUP MUSIC LESSONS

We make Musicians.

The best way to start your musical journey is to do it together!

Lessons

Group lessons are ideally suited for beginners. They don’t need to own an instrument to join these lessons – all instruments are provided. There are currently groups running for ages from 3 years (see Music for Littlies) all the way up to Grade 5.

These lessons are fun and social, teaching them to play as a team, instilling respect and listening skills, while developing their core music ability. If a student is thriving in these lessons, it is encouraged for them to ‘graduate’ onto individual lessons, where they will need to purchase their own instrument – a much greater commitment.

Curriculum

Students learn to play songs on different types of xylophones, as well as percussion instruments. They learn to read music in a basic and simple form, including beats which are played on drums and tambourines. Their understanding of rhythm and timing is critical to becoming a good musician, so focus on this area is a priority.

Geoff Harris

Geoff has been teaching music for over 10 years on various instruments and styles. He plays keys and electric guitar on a church band team, and specializes in teaching worship music. His passion is teaching kids from a young age to play music, especially in groups on xylophones and percussion instruments.

Geoff has previously been a school music teacher, a music concert director and began composing and arranging music since 2005. He has taught music at various private schools, and is also involved in his church’s worship team.
